How will you stop cheating?

We implement industry standard anti-cheat algorithms and keep the stakes low per-game to reduce the benefits of cheating. More details here.

Where can I trade OWN and LRN?

You can trade OWN on Uniswap and Quickswap, and you can trade LRN on QuickSwap (coming soon).

How do I learn and earn?

Step 1: Player Buys (or Receives Delegation for) Hero chess piece. A player purchases or receives delegation for a hero piece. This enables the player to earn LRN from solving puzzles or playing chess with Coins.

Step 2: Player Plays And Earns LRN By Playing Chess. Players use Coins to complete daily challenges and compete for LRN multipliers by placing in the daily leaderboard.

Step 3: Player Upgrades NFTs by burning LRN. Players upgrade their heroes by burning LRN. A higher ranked hero yields a larger LRN bonus and a new, more exclusive look.

Which token(s) can I use to play and earn?

Initially, we will only support gameplay in Coins tokens to play and earn LRN. You receive a variable amount of Coins based on how many heroes you own or have delegated to you.

What are Coins?

Coins are off chain tokens given to each NFT holder to use to complete daily challenges and battle in the daily leaderboard.

How many Coins do I get?

Each player starts with a specific amount of Coins based on the amount of heroes they have equipped or delegated to them. Your Coins balance is reset each day at midnight UTC.

How do I earn LRN rewards?

You can earn LRN by checking in (engaging with the app) and completing daily challenges. You then may amplify these LRN rewards by performing well on the daily leaderboard through a positive performance multiplier.

When do I get LRN rewards?

You receive LRN rewards at the end of each day at midnight UTC. Your total LRN reward is based on your daily challenge rewards times your performance multiplier based on your daily leaderboard percentile. These LRN rewards are claimable on your ChessX Account page.

What is a performance multiplier?

A performance multiplier is based on your daily performance with respect to all the other players. Your performance multiplier is determined by their daily percentile ranking in net profits, which are calculated as:

$$Score_{Player} = Coins_{Current} - Coins_{Starting}$$

This multiplier adds or subtracts to their total LRN payout at the end of each day.

What happens if I send a Hero to another address?

If you send a Hero chess piece to another address, then it must be reactivated for 2,500 LRN.
