Play & Earn

The goal of ChessX is to pay the average player to learn chess at the cost of richer players who buy, speculate, and improve the NFT chess pieces in our marketplace. The app will launch in summer 2023, allowing players to trade NFT chess pieces and additional NFT items. Extra fees will initially accrue to the ChessX Treasury as we balance the system.

How to Earn

‌Players receive treasure chests that contain wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and level 1 Free Mint NFTs by playing against the AI or other players. NFTs can be upgraded by spending WBTC. This provides three opportunities for players to earn:

• Cash out WBTC at any time (e.g. for USDC via Uniswap)

• Cash out NFTs at any time by selling them (e.g. on OpenSea or Magic Eden)

• Rent NFTs for a revenue share of WBTC unlocked with that piece

Puzzles

Chests take time to open, but the process can be sped up by solving AI-generated puzzles based on the mistakes and weaknesses of each individual player. Puzzles also adaptively get easier or harder based on the player's puzzle ELO rank.

Daily check-ins

Players are rewarded special rewards for maintaining 7-day and 30-day login streaks

Leaderboards

Competing for a top position on various leaderboards earns additional chest rewards.

NFT Delegation

Players may 'rent' their NFT pieces to other players for a passive revenue share in the WBTC unlocked with them (some pieces earn more).

Marketplaces

Limited Edition NFTs can be minted, upgraded, and bought in limited quantities and resold in public blockchain marketplaces.

Events

Regular tournaments and events reward players with special NFTs and Bitcoin prizes.
